Without Google: what’s different

No in-app subscriptions yet. Plans, backup, sync and export are free, as on Play. Basic and Pro come with a code for now: enter it under Settings → Subscription.
Sign in with email. There’s no “Sign in with Google”. You don’t need an account to start.
Location comes from your phone. Places use the phone’s own GPS and network location, so they work with or without microG.
Updates aren’t automatic. Come back to this page for new versions. Each one installs over the last.

Installing the APK

Open the downloaded file and allow your browser to install apps when Android asks. If you have the Google Play version installed, uninstall it first. The two are signed differently, so one won’t install over the other.

Check it’s really ours

Every build is signed with the same key. Before installing, you can compare the APK with the values below, for example with AppVerifier or apksigner verify --print-certs.
